Callahan Dance Academy has been family owned for 55 years
and has been in Callahan for 28 years.

Owner and Director:
Terri Vaughn
At three years old, Terri began her dance training in Jacksonville, Florida at her father's dance studio, Buddy Sherwood School of Dance.  Terri trained with her Dad and his staff.  She was a student teacher, assistant teacher and taught classes of her own while in high school.  She demonstrated at national dance seminars and traveled for National Dance and affiliated artists of Los Angeles for many summers.  She experienced additional dance training from many national dancing teachers.  Locally she has judged and choreographed high school musicals, school pageants, and children's beauty pageants.  Terri has performed locally and nationally but her love of dance led her to teaching children.  Since opening her own studio in Callahan in 1980, she has enjoyed teaching the children and adults of this community.  She participates in Callahan parades, school functions and civic programs.

Studio Manager:
Janet Carter
Janet began working for Callahan Dance Academy in 1997 as a secretary for Terri and eventually became the studio manager.  She manages the business for the studio and coordinates activities for which the students perform during the year along with the grand finale recital.  Janet became involved when her daughter, Mallory, began dancing at the age of six.  She hopes to continue working for the studio for many years to come.
